Warm weather, sunny days, fashion, and laughter fuel me. My friends and family will feel shocked that I created raincloud earrings. In the past, rainy days made it difficult to hide behind my masks (aka coping mechanisms to hide trauma) because I felt flat and blah. Something about the clouds dimming the sun's rays made me feel depressed and unenthusiastic. I dreaded rain clouds because I knew I would have to hide behind masks even more to remain the jokester and the life of the party. No sun. No fun. Pretend everything’s great. Blah. Blah. Blah.
After processing the traumatic events that happened to me over the past ten years, rainy days have a different meaning. Clouds provide a miraculously beautiful reminder that we all have a unique, ever-changing history that we carry with us on our journey through life. Isn’t that AMAZING?
My wish is that we can authentically live out loud in full technicolor. I also envision a world where we can socially connect because it helps us feel understood and provides a sense of belonging. We can help lighten the load for others through celebrations, laughter, and support. Maybe a friend or loved one is struggling with something in their lives. They may feel like the rainy days are overpowering. A smile and a few kind words from our hearts can help others feel more valued, seen, important, and heard.
May these rain cloud earrings serve as a reminder that no matter the storm - past or present, we always have the promise of a brighter future.
Life is tough, and tomorrow is never promised. Storms pass, and the sun will shine brightly again although it may not feel that way right now. Besides, without rain, we wouldn’t have beautiful flowers, vibrant sunsets after the rain, or rainbows. (Well, we wouldn’t have a lot of gorgeous gifts because the water cycle is a little important, ya know. Ha!)
